The Pellegrini family has been growing grapes and producing wine for four generations in Sonoma County, California. Our name has been associated with every tier of the wine business since the early part of the 20th Century — as wine producers, grape sellers, importers, and wholesale distributors. Today, we are dedicated to making small-lot, low intervention wines from the best vineyards in Sonoma County.
The Pellegrini family has produced Sonoma County appellation blends under the Pellegrini label since 1925. Our winemaking style emphasizes balance over power, exhibiting regional representative of the appellation's true cool climate character. Planted in 1975, our historic Olivet Lane Estate vineyard and winery is located in the heart of the Russian River Valley. From these half century old vines, we produce & bottle estate Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, as well as traditional methode sparkling and late harvest wines.
The story of Olivet Lane starts in 1973, when the Pellegrini family purchased a 70-acre apple and plum orchard on West Olivet Road in Santa Rosa. The property was converted to vineyard land in 1975. Planted with heirloom clones, Martini & Old Wente, Olivet Lane is today one of the oldest existing Pinot & Chardonnay vineyards within the appellation, and widely recognized as a heritage vineyard and prime example of the classic style of Russian River Valley Pinot Noir at the “Premier Cru” level. As a monopole estate vineyard, it has been faithfully tended by Pellegrini family for over 45 years. Over the years, it has been the grape source for many of the Valley’s Pinot Noir luminaries, such as Merry Edwards (Pellegrini winemaker from 1991-2002), Williams Selyem, and Gary Farrell.
